The run continues for Ole Miss and Lane Kiffin. Zachary (La.) offensive tackle Kavion Broussard decommitted from Miami Friday. A day later he announces a commitment to the Rebels.

Transfer portal commitments from Princely Umanmielen, Tamarion McDonald and Tyler Baron got things started. Then Oak Grove (Miss.) quarterback AJ Maddox flipped from Texas A&M. And finally, Broussard made it official Saturday evening.

Missouri was also involved but Ole Miss offensive line coach John Garrison and defensive coordinator Pete Golding were able to complete the flip.

On3’s Sam Spiegelman was in New Orleans for the state championships and saw Kavion Broussard up close and personal.

“Miami commit Kavion Broussard looked the part as an underclassman, but at 6-foot-6 and 275 pounds was an enforcer at left tackle for Zachary,” Spiegelman said. “Broussard was sound in pass protection and moved well at his towering size. He’s taken a huge step forward in his positional development, as well as his ability to use his hands and his length to his advantage.

“Broussard not only has traits like height and wingspan, he’s playing nasty football at a premium position,” Spiegelman said. “He’s a stock-up 2024 tackle, in this analyst’s opinion.”

Broussard checks in as the No. 650 overall player in the country, according to the On3 Industry Rankings, a weighted average which utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He’s the 41st-ranked offensive tackle in the country and the No. 19 player in Louisiana.
