The Flagship: Stephen Hartzell talks SEC hoops, Pete Nakos breaks down Jaxson Dart's NIL deal
As the calendar turns to March, Ole Miss basketball is preparing to fight for its tournament life. The Rebels have four winnable games to close out the regular season. Then, it will travel to Nashville, Tenn., for the 2024 SEC Men’s Basketball Tournament. Stephen Hartzell of Learfield, College Sports Now and Hand in the Dirt fame joins “The Flagship” to talk hoops. Then, we welcome in On3’s Pete Nakos to talk about Jaxson Dart’s NIL deal with Nicholas Air.
Ole Miss is currently 19-9 and 6-9 in the Southeastern Conference. After Wednesday’s loss to 15th-ranked Alabama, though, the Rebels are no longer on the bubble. Hartzell gives his thoughts on what Ole Miss will have to do to improve its resume and what to expect with an uber competitive SEC tournament next month.

Jaxson Dart made history earlier this week, inking the deal with Nicholas Air.
Nakos explains the significance of the deal and how it impacts the NIL landscape for others.
“The Ole Miss quarterback inked an endorsement deal with Nicholas Air, making it the first partnership of its kind,” Nakos said. “Facilitated by Everett Sports Marketing‘s Jeff Hoffman, the deal calls for Dart to have hours using Nicholas Air’s fleet of private jets for travel, training and philanthropy.
“ESM has one of the largest NIL agency portfolios, including Georgia’s Carson Beck and Brock Bowers along with the Cavinder Twins,” Nakos said. “It’s not his first time working with a private jet company. The former USC transfer previously participated in an activation with The Brandr Group and Wheels Up that included Ole Miss athletes. But the Heisman candidate is now jet-setting into a new era of NIL.”
