For a second time in the last three years Ole Miss is ending its season in a New Year’s Six bowl game. And for the first time ever it will be against the Big 10’s Penn State Nittany Lions.

After securing another 10-win regular season, the Rebels secured a NY6 bowl on Sunday. No. 11 Ole Miss (10-2) will take on No. 10 Penn State (10-2) at Mercedes-Benz Stadium December 30 at Noon ET. This is a return to the Peach Bowl for the third time in program history and first time in nine years.

The Nittany Lions will open as a 2.5-point favorite over the Rebels, according to lines released by FanDuel. The over/under has been set at 47.5.

The Nittany Lions also finished 10-2 in the regular season, with losses to two elite teams in Michigan and Ohio State. Penn State boasts one of the nation’s best defenses.

Penn State leads the nation in total defense, giving up only 223.3 yards per game. That’s one of the main reasons the point spread and over/under total are where they are.
