Ole Miss football predicted to finish fourth in SEC West, lands four players on Preseason All-SEC
The 2022 SEC Football Media Days concluded on Thursday and on Friday the results of the Preseason SEC Football Media Poll and Preseason All-SEC Teams were revealed. Ole Miss finds itself in the middle of the pack in the SEC West and four Rebels earned the preseason honor.
To the shock of very few Alabama is the heavy favorite to win the SEC Championship this December back in Atlanta. The Crimson Tide received a 158 votes to Georgia’s 18. South Carolina (3 votes), Vanderbilt (1) and Texas A&M (1) also received votes.
The SEC West is also the Tide’s to lose, receiving 1,262 points while Ole Miss was predicted to finish fourth (675) behind the Aggies in second (968) and Arkansas (844) in third place. LSU (591), Mississippi State (390) and Auburn (328) round out the predicted order in the West.
The Bulldogs are a resounding favorite to win the Eastern Division with 1,254 points. Kentucky (932), Tennessee (929), Florida (712), South Carolina (662), Missouri (383), Vanderbilt (196) round out the East’s predicted order.

Ole Miss is coming off a 2021 season where they finished second in the West behind Alabama after being predicted to finish fourth by the media.
The Rebels secured their first 10-win regular season and earned a berth to a New Year’s Six bowl.
The Preseason All-SEC Teams were revealed with Ole Miss’ Nick Broeker, Jonathan Mingo, Zach Evans and Jeremy James finding their names on the list.
Broeker earned a spot on the First Team offense while Mingo landed on the Second Team. Evans and James landed on the Third Team offense with James tying with Alabama’s Kendall Randolph for the final spot.
