High school football is very much back and Thursday and Friday evenings are full of highlight reel plays and crowd cheers. In a new series, OMSpirit is going to take you behind the scenes as we take a close-up view of Ole Miss commits and targets.
Up first, On3 Consensus four-star quarterback and Ole Miss commit Marcel Reed. He and his Montgomery Bell Academy (Tenn.) teammates mauled Christ Presbyterian Academy (Tenn.) on Thursday to the tune of 35-10. The 6-foot-2, 180 pound quarterback was dynamic all evening, finishing with 203 total yards and four total touchdowns. Reed and the Big Red are now 4-0 on the season and have won 12 of their last 13 games.
Reed is the No. 344 overall prospect in the On3 Consensus rankings for the class of 2023. He is considered the No. 20 quarterback in the class and the 8th-ranked player in Tennessee. He, along with the other 10 commits in Lane Kiffin’s 2023 class have the Rebels currently ranked 25th nationally in On3’s 2023 Consensus Football Team Recruiting Rankings. The class holds a 73% blue chip rating and is 19th in average rating.
