Ole Miss signee Deion Smith has officially reported to fall camp
Holmes (Miss.) wide receiver Deion Smith signed with Ole Miss in the 2024 cycle. And now, the long-awaited (official) arrival is here. The former LSU wideout and NJCAA All-American has been academically cleared and is now at fall camp in Oxford, Miss.
The Jackson, Miss., native adds to an already loaded wide receiver room. One which could be the best in the country. All-SEC returners Tre Harris and Jordan Watkins are back to lead the group. South Carolina’s Juice Wells is also bringing a lot of cache to George McDonald‘s room. And there’s sophomores Cayden Lee and Ayden Williams.
But, Smith could be someone who makes this room obsolete when compared to others around the rest of college football.

OMSpirit spoke with an Ole Miss staffer earlier this year about what is expected from Deion Smith.
“The buzz is the buzz. Everyone has a high hopes for his ability to come in and contribute,” Carter said. He’s shown the ability to be dynamic and a playmaker. Despite large hiatus from high-level football, he can come in and contribute because of his football history. He will be an asset.”
After grabbing 48 receptions for 1,063 yards and 12 touchdowns in junior college, he appears poised to make his mark at Ole Miss next. In high school, Smith grabbed 43 receptions for 1,059 yards and 19 touchdowns. He also averaged 31.2 yards per punt return and 37.9 per kickoff returns. He was named to the Mississippi 5A All-State First-Team at wide receiver.
