Ole Miss commits, former players and staff members react to Kamarion Franklin's commitment
On Saturday, Lake Cormorant (Miss.) four-star defensive lineman Kamarion Franklin committed to Ole Miss. The No. 37 overall prospect, per On3’s Industry Ranking, is far and away the Rebels’ top commit in the 2024 class. Lane Kiffin and Co. beat out the likes of Auburn, Florida State, Miami and Tennessee for the top recruit in the Magnolia State.
And the impact was felt afterwards when several Ole Miss commits, current players, former players and staff members rejoiced on the internet. Franklin’s commitment catapulted Ole Miss into the Top 25 in On3’s 2024 Industry Ranking Football Team Recruiting Rankings. The class is now 47 percent in-state and has a blue chip rating of 26 percent.
The three-headed monster of Kelvin Bolden, Pete Golding and Randall Joyner was too much for Hugh Freeze and Auburn to overcome. As predicted by myself and Chuck Rounsaville of the OMSpirit, things shifted big-time Wednesday evening for Ole Miss. Then on Friday, it was done. Once the DeSoto County recruit made the decision, the internet was taken over.
