Top 10 junior college prospect Raymond Collins signs with Ole Miss
Ole Miss linebacker commit Raymond Collins has wrapped up his junior college career. The four-star prospect was in Oxford, Miss., earlier this month for his official visit and he tells OMSpirit there will be zero drama when it comes to him and his recruitment.
And now he’s signed the dotted line.
“I liked everything up here,” Collins said. “They still treated me like family and treated me like it was my first time here. They showed me everything, and I love it up here. I’m a hundred percent done. I’m just ready to sign papers.”
In 2023, the 6-foot-2, 235 pound recruit finished his year at Jones College (Miss.) with 56 tackles, 14 tackles for loss and six sacks. He is ranked as the No. 7 overall prospect in On3’s junior college rankings, the 3rd-ranked EDGE and No. 2 overall player in the uber competitive Mississippi JUCO ranks.
As cliché as it can be, the relationships Raymond Collins built at Ole Miss was the difference.
“Just how everybody treated me,” Collins said. “In the linebacker room it’s a good chance that I can come in and plug and play. I like that about here.

“Just telling me that they’ve got a lot of linebackers leaving,” Collins said. “Just saying there’s a good chance that I can come in and just plug and play.”
Collins played his high school ball at Harrison Central (Miss.) before ending up at Jones College. In 2022, he made 46 tackles, seven tackles for loss and 2.5 sacks. Golding visited the newest Ole Miss commit before submitting the offer earlier this year. He said the meeting went well but he was still taken aback by the offer.
“He told me he likes my size and how I play,” Collins said. “They want to keep me at linebacker and think I can be a difference maker.”
“It was just everything. Everything was good to me. I loved everything about it,” said Collins.
