Jacksonville State defensive lineman Chris Hardie will visit Ole Miss this weekend
Ole Miss continues to play the “waiting game” with former portal commit Tyler Baron. But the spot is up for grabs and Jacksonville State defensive lineman Chris Hardie could be grabbing it. The 2023 All-Conference USA selection will take an official visit to Oxford, Miss., this weekend.
The 6-foot-2, 260 pound prospect prepped at Vincent (Ala.) before playing his college ball for the Gamecocks. In 2023, he made 60 tackles, 16 tackles for loss and 8.5 sacks. He grabbed multiple sacks four times last year and finished with 13 tackles for loss against South Carolina and Coastal Carolina.
After redshirting, Hardie played in 47 games and was one of the top players at his position in the Football Championship Subdivision. For his career, he has 101 tackles, 30 tackles for loss and 8.5 sacks.

The portal target visited Colorado State earlier this week.
Jacksonville State made the move to FBS in 2023. Chris Hardie was ready for it.
“Last year I know I had a pretty decent season, but this year I wanted to come in and focus on the details of my overall game,” Hardie said. “I know that is what’s going to get me playing better on this higher level of football.”
Hardie reminds me a bit of former Ole Miss transfer defensive lineman, Isaac Ukwu. He’s a bit on the shorter side, like Ukwu, but plays with tremendous leverage and motor. He’s also a heck of an athlete.
