Miami running back Henry Parrish commits to Ole Miss, reunites with Kevin Smith
After two seasons at Ole Miss, former four-star running back Henry Parrish returned home to the Sunshine State and played two seasons at Miami. Now, he has since re-entered the transfer portal and has re-committed to the Rebels for the 2024 season. This comes on the heels of a weekend commitment from New Mexico running back Jacory Merritt.
Parrish followed his primary recruiter and position coach, Kevin Smith, to Coral Gables in 2022. But, after Smith opted to return to Ole Miss in 2023, sources speculated a reunion was sure to happen. Sure enough, as first reported by OMSpirit’s Austin Gray January 9, Parrish has now come back to Oxford, Miss., as a fifth-year senior.
He will pair nicely with returning running backs Ulysses Bentley and Kedrick Reescano. LSU transfer Logan Diggs will also factor into the rotation once he is 100 percent. He had off-season surgery on a torn ACL.
Henry Parrish was a big-time get for Ole Miss and Kevin Smith in 2020.
At Ole Miss, he ran for 816 yards in his 161 carries with five touchdowns in two seasons. He also hauled in 28 receptions for 232 receiving yards. In his first season with Miami, Parrish was named Third-Team All-ACC after rushing for a career-high 617 yards and four touchdowns.
