Florida wide receiver Thai Chiaokhiao-Bowman takes official visit to Ole Miss Tuesday
Florida wide receiver Thai Chiaokhiao-Bowman entered the NCAA Transfer Portal once the regular season concluded. Now he is starting to look for a home for the 2024 season. On Tuesday, the Robbinsdale Armstrong (Minn.) prospect made his way to Ole Miss for an official visit.
The 6-foot, 200 pound recruit played in two games on special teams and redshirted in 2023. The year before, he played in 12 games and grabbed seven receptions for 138 yards. Also made three tackles on special teams.
In high school, Chiaokhiao-Bowman received All-State, All-District, All-Metro and All-Conference honors. He was also an All-State selection in long jump.
Thai Chiaokhiao-Bowman is listed as a sophomore and should have three seasons of eligibility remaining.
He missed the majority of 2023 with injuries, but with multiple years remaining he is a solid addition for anyone with his size and athleticism. Miami has also offered. Ole Miss, Illinois and Nebraska recruited him once he opted for the prep school route at St. Thomas More in Connecticut.

Florida receivers coach Keary Colbert served as the primary recruiter for the Chiaokhiao-Bowman. Colbert played his college ball at Southern Cal. Lane Kiffin was on staff then as the Trojans’ wide receivers coach.
On3’s Zach Abolverdi talked with Florida head coach Billy Napier two summers ago.
“Thai got banged up early on arrival, but Thai’s earning respect as well,” Napier said of Chiaokhiao-Bowman. “He was a guy who passed our evaluations, and he was in this class and we found out he was available as a high school qualifier, so we made a decision to go ahead and bring him in.
“So, he has character. He’s been mentored by some great receiver coaches and receivers. His brother played at Northwestern and had a cup of coffee in the league. He’s got a football background and I think he’s really got good intangibles and I think he’s going to bring some things to our team.”
