Ole Miss continues run of four-star commits, add Andrew Maddox
Lane Kiffin and Ole Miss are not only making it a point to add blue chip, instant impact prospects. But the Rebels are adding elite in-state talent to the 2025 class. On Monday, the trend continues as Oak Grove (Miss.) defensive lineman Andrew Maddox commits to Ole Miss.
The 6-foot-3, 270 pound prospect is the 12th commit for Ole Miss in this cycle. He joins four-star running back Akylin Dear, four-star linebacker Jarcoby Hopson, four-star wide receiver Jerome Myles, four-star safety Keon Young and four-star wide receiver Dillon Alfred.
He is currently ranked as the country’s 175th overall prospect, per On3’s Industry Ranking. Maddox is the No. 16 defensive lineman and the 6th-ranked recruit in the state of Mississippi.
Despite all the outside noise from programs like Auburn, LSU and Texas A&M, Andrew Maddox opted to stay home.
Not only is Maddox’s older brother, A.J. Maddox, on the Ole Miss roster, but he has a very tight relationship with Pete Golding and Randall Joyner. This pull to Oxford, Miss., was too much for others to overcome. The Maddox’s father goes way back with Golding to their time at Delta State and Joyner’s track record as a developer is proven.

“They are developing players and they won 11 games last year. Me and (defensive coordinator/linebackers coach Pete (Golding), we have a connection,” Maddox said. “He recruited me when he was at Alabama. When he moved to Ole Miss, that brought me closer to him.
“My brother is going there, so that’s what also drew me closer to Ole Miss. (Defensive line) coach (Randall) Joyner is like a second father to me. He’s taken me under his wing and shown me around, shown me things and we are building a relationship. I am getting to know him and I feel safe around him.”
