Ole Miss receives commitment from experienced defensive back Antonio Kite
Ole Miss has been one of the most active programs in the NCAA Transfer Portal in the early window. And it doesn’t appear like Lane Kiffin and the Rebels are going to slow down anytime soon. Auburn safety Antonio Kite has announced his commitment to Ole Miss.
Kite began his career at Alabama, but transferred after two seasons. He spent this season on the Plains but is back in the portal. This year he had six tackles, one interception and a blocked punt.
As a member of the 2022 class, Kite was a four-star prospect out of Anniston (Ala.), according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average which utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He was the No. 8 overall prospect in the state, the No. 13 safety in the class and the No. 161 overall prospect in the class.
Ole Miss is once again looking to reload the secondary for 2025.
John Saunders and Brandon Turnage are set to leave Ole Miss after the Gator Bowl. Kite is a seasoned veteran and has familiarity with Pete Golding. He knows what he wants out of his safeties and would bring position versatility as well.

Ole Miss needs to continue to add experience to its defense. It paid off in 2024 with record numbers and it’s a solid plan for the future.
The 6-foot-1, 182 pound prospect was one of the top prospects in Alabama coming out of high school. Kite is a phenomenal athlete to boot. He was an outstanding basketball player as well, earning the 2020 ASWA 4A Player of the Year after averaging 20.6 points, 6.9 rebounds and 8.8 assists per game.
