Ole Miss continues torrid transfer portal start, adds OL Delano Townsend
After starting things off with a bang, adding five-stars Da’Shawn Womack and Caleb Odom, four-stars Jaylon Braxton, Patrick Kutas, Kewan Lacy, Princewill Umanmielen, Luke Hasz, Antonio Kite, De’Zhaun Stribling and Charlotte offensive lineman PJ Wilkins, Lane Kiffin kept things going on Saturday. UAB interior offensive lineman Delano Townsend committed to Ole Miss Thursday.
The 6-foot-4, 315 pound prospect from Hamady (Mich.) played in all 12 games for UAB this season after redshirting in 2023. He was offered by Ole Miss earlier in the week and just wrapped up an OV.
According to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies, Townsend ranked as the No. 208 interior offensive lineman in the country coming out of Flint (Mich.) Hamady in 2023.

Townsend is someone who can come in and provide immediate depth and push the returning players. He is a mammoth recruit who should help with the Rebels’ short yardage run game issues.
