4-star WR Dillon Alfred recommits to Ole Miss after push from Clemson
Saraland (Miss.) wide receiver Dillon Alfred decommitted from Ole Miss at the end of June. Dabo Swinney and Clemson made a surge after the Gauiter, Miss., native flashed at a camp, but the four-star prospect is back in Lane Kiffin‘s 2025 class. Alfred announced his recommitment back to Ole Miss Friday.
The talented pass-catcher visited Clemson last week before returning to Oxford, Miss., for Juice Fest 24. Alfred met with wide receivers coach George McDonald, Ole Miss’ coordinator of recruiting strategy Kelvin Bolden and Kiffin upon his arrival. Afterwards, the Rebels were happy to hear he was rejoining the Top 25 class.
In 12 games in 2023, he helped Saraland to a runner-up finish in Alabama’s 6A classification. He snagged 35 receptions for 586 yards and sixs touchdowns. Before leaving Mississippi, the 6-foot, 170 pound prospect had a banner campaign. He hauled in 58 receptions for 1,310 yards and 16 touchdowns as a sophomore.
Dillon Alfred wanted to ensure he made the right decision. He reopened his recruitment to do this. Now he’s a Rebel again.
“I knew since day one, they’ve been after me since day one,” Alfred said. “They’ve been constantly showing love to me and my family. I’ve got a great relationship with all the coaches. It’s unbelievable.”

Alfred says he chose Ole Miss over the likes of Missouri, Arkansas, Clemson, UGA, Texas A&M and Tennessee. He said the decision came down to one very simple thing.
“It’s how Ole Miss develops receivers,” Alfred said. “They put them in the league and it’s a great program.”
