Ole Miss flip train not slowing down, four-star Devin Harper hops on board
Calvary Baptist Academy (La.) interior offensive lineman Devin Harper has been solidly committed to LSU since the start of 2024. He remained in Brian Kelly’s class until the weekend of November 9. Then everything changed. This is when the four-star prospect took a visit to Ole Miss and quickly flipped to the Rebels a few days later.
Harper is the 21st commit in Lane Kiffin‘s 2025 class. He is the No. 90 overall prospect in the country, No. 7 interior offensive lineman and remains the third-ranked prospect in Louisiana, per the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average which utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.
Ole Miss has been pushing for more success on the recruiting trail in the offensive trenches. And this commitment is a humongous step in the right direction for the Rebels and OL coach John Garrison.
On3’s Charles Power has scouted Devin Harper in person. He likes the prospect headed to Oxford.
“Devin Harper, think he’s violent at the point of attack,” Power said. “Gets a strong push, moves well. I think we liked what we saw from him relative to the position. He’s a guy that projects on the inside, but wouldn’t be out of left field to maybe see him potentially be a swing tackle as well.

“I think he’s probably best on the inside,” Power said. “Like the movement skills on film and thought he was strong at the point of attack and a guy who plays with a physical edge.”
The latest Ole Miss commit has also self-scouted and knows he has a long way to go.
“I feel like I’ve made a lot of improvement since my freshman season, but I still have a lot of work to do,” Harper said. “I focused mainly on my technique early on in my sophomore year because I was still raw. But now I’m getting more into technique and refining my game. Footwork is something I pride myself on.
“The moment your feet stop, you’re beat. Now that I’ve built that foundation, I’m able to dominate,” Harper said. “I’ve always had that dog in me, but now that I have the technique, my game is that much better.”
