Ole Miss 4-star LB commit Jarcoby Hopson adds another preseason honor
Lake Cormorant (Miss.) linebacker Jarcoby Hopson added another accolade to the proverbial shelf Monday. The four-star prospect was named to the Commercial Appeal’s high school football 2024 Dandy Dozen.
As a junior, the 6-foot-2, 205 pound recruit recorded 71 tackles and seven tackles for loss for the Gators. He also ran for 785 yards last season, impacting the game on both sides of the ball. Lake Cormorant finished the year 9-3.
Hopson is the No. 202 overall prospect in the country, per On3’s Industry Ranking. He’s the 20th-ranked linebacker in the country and Mississippi’s No. 8 prospect.
Jarcoby Hopson has been building a bond with the Ole Miss staff since he was a freshman.
And with the addition of Pete Golding to the staff, the relationship only got stronger. I spoke with Hopson back in February at the Under Armour Next Camp in Atlanta about his bond with the Rebels and his talks with the defensive coordinator.

“Coach Pete is a very cool person, he was telling me where I would play in his defense,” Hopson said. “He’s been very welcoming.”
Wes Neighbors was also a big part of landing the DeSoto County recruit. He says Ole Miss likens him to 2023 signee and Freshman All-American Suntarine Perkins.
“They like me as an outside linebacker/safety,” Hopson said. “The JACK position.”
