Cy Falls (Tex.) linebacker Kaleb Burns was offered by Ole Miss Wednesday. The former Texas Tech commit flipped to the Baylor Bears at the end of July. Now, his recruitment is growing with a strong start to his senior year.

The 6-foot-1, 230 pound prospect is the No. 463 overall prospect and No. 47 LB in the 2025 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average which utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He’s also the No. 67 player in Texas.

Burns received the offer from Ole Miss’ DJ Mann and Alex Brown. He had 73 tackles as a junior with 18.5 tackles for loss, six sacks, two forced fumbles and two interceptions.

Kaleb Burns has added several notable Power 4 offers.

The Texas recruit holds verbal offers from TCU, Pittsburgh, Tennessee, Florida, Washington, Arkansas, Maryland, Utah and Arizona.

Currently, Ole Miss has just two linebacker commits in the 2025 class. Lake Cormorant (Miss.) four-star Jarcoby Hopson and Itawamba Agricultural (Miss.) three-star Bryson Walters are the only commits as of this writing.

Lane Kiffin’s group is currently ranked 22nd overall in On3’s Team Football Recruiting Rankings.

SMU is also plugging away here to try and flip the three-star.

Burns told On3’s Steve Wiltfong earlier this summer the Mustangs were No. 1 for him.

“Definitely wants me to commit, but having that connection and relationship, feel like I can do great things, feel like we can do great things together,” he said. “They want me to sign that rock.”

SMU co-defensive coordinator and linebackers coach Maurice Crum is his lead recruiter. Crum was previously a linebackers coach at Ole Miss in 2022.
