On Saturday, four-star Escambia (Fla.) safety Ladarian Clardy announced his commitment to Ole Miss. The 5-foot-11, 165 pound prospect chose the Rebels over Florida State, LSU, Washington, Vanderbilt, Mississippi State and UCF.

Clardy is the 180th overall prospect, per On3’s Industry Ranking. He is Florida’s No. 29 senior recruit and the 16th-ranked safety in the 2025 class.

He is Ole Miss’ 17th commit in the 2025 class and the Rebels eighth blue chip commit. Ole Miss is now firmly inside the Top 20 in On3’s Team Football Recruiting Rankings. Furthermore, he’s the sixth four-star defensive commit.

Last season, the Ole Miss target finished with 57 tackles, eight pass breakups and four interception. Escambia went 8-4 and made the regional finals in Florida’s 3S classification. He also racked up 154 yards of total offense and four touchdowns.

Escambia’s Ladarian Clardy (1) runs with plenty of room in front of him on a punt return during Escambia’s overtime victory over Bay on Friday, Sept. 13, 2024.

Despite the humble stature, Ladarian Clardy is a physical defensive back at the point of attack.

He is not shy when it comes to meeting ball carriers at the line of scrimmage. Clardy comes downhill quickly and is an opportunistic playmaker. His physical style of play and nose for the ball creates a ton of chances for good things to happen.

Clardy is also a weapon in the return game, offering somewhat of a throwback to early 2000’s defensive back who also returned punts a la Ed Reed and DeJuan Groce.
