Ole Miss adds well-rounded playmaker in WR Samari Reed
After much deliberation over the spring and summer, Monarch (Fla.) wide receiver Samari Reed made a decision. The 6-foot-2, 190 pound prospect chose the Rebels Thursday over the likes of Clemson, Kentucky, Penn State and West Virginia.
Reed, the No. 64 wide receiver recruit in the country, per the On3 Industry Rankings, is Lane Kiffin’s 11th commitment in the 2025 class. He is the nation’s No. 403 overall recruit and Florida’s 56th-ranked player.
Reed is now the first wide receiver commit for Ole Miss this cycle. Former wide receiver commit, Dillon Alfred, decommitted last month. Ole Miss is now back in the Top 25, per On3’s Team Football Recruiting Rankings.
Samari Reed had a monster junior season.
In 2023, Monarch went 11-3 on the shoulders of Reed’s strong showing. He had 56 receptions for 1,311 yards and 15 touchdowns. The Knights made a run to the Florida 4M semifinals. New Ole Miss wide receivers coach George McDonald is his primary recruiter.

Florida State, Miami, Florida, Texas A&M, Missouri, UCF, Arkansas and Louisville, among several others, also made a run at the talented pass-catcher.
Reed flashes on tape at every level. He can take the top off the defense, his electric after the catch and he is strong at the catch point. This is the type of receiver Kiffin has had a lot of fun with during his time at Ole Miss. The three-star recruit is a weapon in the return game as well.
