The Flagship: Transfer Portal mailbag and NFL Draft vs Another Year
Ole Miss and head coach Lane Kiffin a.k.a The Portal King have put together the No. 3-ranked NCAA Transfer Portal class thus far. But, OMSpirit subscribers have questions and they need answers!
On this edition of “The Flagship”, presented by College Corner, we answer your mailbag questions about this year’s portal cycle, top remaining targets, allocating resources and 2026 high school recruiting. Ole Miss landed two transfer pass-catchers this week. WVU wide receiver Traylon Ray and New Mexico tight end Trace Bruckler picked the Rebels. Which transfers could be next?
We also discuss Ben Garrett’s super-duper steamy scoop he dropped on Thursday.
Multiple sources confirmed the development on Thursday. However, we’ll continue to classify it as rumor, as neither Dart nor now-sixth-year head coach Lane Kiffin have confirmed one way or another. The only acknowledgement at all came in a few social media posts from Kiffin after the Gator Bowl.
Another rumor with some juice is former transfer-turned star Tre Harris is considering returning, too.
Harris declared for the NFL Draft in December. Sources indicate he’s registered for classes. He suffered multiple injuries this season, which has apparently complicated his otherwise top-three-round draft stock.

The status of both Dart and Harris should come to a head within the next few weeks, per Garrett. The 2025 NFL Draft is set for April 26-28 and will take place in Green Bay, Wisconsin. What will the former transfer portal stars decide?
I do my best to answer all your transfer portal questions and I give my thoughts on both Dart and Harris’ contemplation about amateur American college football and the professional ranks.
