Ole Miss commit Corey Amos named LB MVP at Under Armour Next Camp
Opelousas (La.) linebacker Corey Amos committed to Ole Miss quickly after a junior day trip in February. Since then, the three-star prospect has been preparing for his senior season. On Sunday, the hard work paid off when he was named the most valuable player of the linebacker group at the Under Armour Next Camp in Houston, Tex.
Amos is the No. 384 overall prospect and No. 43 LB in the 2025 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average which utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He’s also the 11th-ranked prospect in Louisiana.
Amos’ primary recruiter and future position coach is Pete Golding. Ole Miss’ defensive coordinator is a known commodity in the state of Louisiana and his relationship with Amos helped land the first commit in the 2025 class.
The lengthy linebacker flashed his quickness and physical hands in one-on-one drills Sunday.
The 6-foot-3, 205 pound recruit combated being undersized on paper with a quick first step and aggressive punch.

Corey Amos is high on Ole Miss’ playing style defensively.
“Ole Miss is very physical on defense and offense,” Amos said in February. “It was basically just the coaching staff that led to my commitment and the style of defense they’re running. The style of defense Ole Miss runs fits my game. Pass rushing is the thing I like to do best.”
Michigan, Miami, Mississippi State, Penn State, UCF, Tulane and Missouri, among others, have extended offers early. Amos mentioned his reasoning for committing prior to his senior season. The answer was simple. Golding was a big part of it.
“I just felt like doing it early because it felt like home,” said Amos. “He’s a great guy.”
