Ole Miss adds second 2026 commit in WR Jameson Powell
2026 Folsom (Calif.) wide receiver Jameson Powell felt wanted by Ole Miss ever since he visited last summer. Now, he’s announced his commitment to Lane Kiffin and the Rebels.
Powell talked with On3’s Chad Simmons in December about what he’s looking for in a college program. He’s apparently found it in Ole Miss.
“Important factors to me are having a family-oriented connection with the offensive coordinator and my position coach and also, having great relationships with the strength coach and the head coach,” Powell said. “Also, I want to know where they see me in their system and how I can help their team in the best ways.”
As a sophomore, Powell grabbed 86 receptions for 1,231 yards and 14 touchdowns. In 2024, he finished with 1,020 yards receiving on 65 receptions and 17 touchdowns.
Jameson Powell ultimately chose Ole Miss over Arizona, Oregon and Southern Cal.
Last summer, he told OMSpirit what he liked about his weekend in Oxford, Miss.
“I loved Ole Miss, they showed me a lot and told me a lot about the program I did not know,” Powell said. “I talked with (Lane) Kiffin, the offensive coordinator and wide receivers coach a lot and they are all good people.

“Talk mostly with coach (George) McDonald. His message is more of Ole Miss developing me for what’s after college football.”
Jameson Powell joins three-star wide receiver Zion Legree in Kiffin’s 2026 recruiting class. One notable tidbit about the newest commit for Ole Miss. Powell is teammate’s with five-star quarterback Ryder Lyons. He is one of the top prospects in the country and one of Kiffin’s top wants in this cycle.
