Ole Miss lands first 2026 commit in wide receiver Zion Legree

After Ole Miss dominated Georgia Saturday and re-introduced itself to the College Football Playoff picture, recruiting vibes were buzzing. And on Monday, the first domino in 2026 fell as Pine Forest (Fla.) wide receiver Zion Legree committed to the Rebels.

The three-star prospect recently named Georgia, Ole Miss, Miami, Missouri, Illinois, Washington, Florida and Mississippi State as his Top 8. Legree’s primary recruiter is Ole Miss wide receiver coach George McDonald.

Legree, the No. 391 overall prospect in the On3 Industry Ranking, No. 35 athlete and 70th-ranked junior in Florida in the 2026 class. This year, he has already taken visits to Florida, Florida State and Auburn. On Saturday, the newest Ole Miss commit was in the Vaught for Ole Miss’ 28-10 win over Georgia.

 Last year as a wide receiver, Legree grabbed 31 receptions for 557 yards and five touchdowns. As a junior in 2024, he has over 400 all-purpose yards and has scored three total touchdowns.

Zion Legree is Ole Miss’ first 2026 commit.

The Rebels are also trending heavily with Brandon (Miss.) cornerback Preston Ashley and Morton (Miss.) wide receiver Xavier McDonald. On3’s Steve Wiltfong has entered an On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine pick for Ashley to pick Ole Miss.
