Ole Miss football reveals updated spring roster, jersey numbers for mid-year enrollees
Five weeks from today college football revs up again with Ole Miss opening up its spring practices on March 21. The for roughly four weeks the Rebels will get a feel for what its 2023 team will offer this fall.
The transfer portal era has added an extra layer to spring practices now with players who were on one team in the fall are now on a new team just a handful of months later. Ole Miss has thrived in this era and this spring is no different.
The Rebels added 13 new players as mid-year enrollees who are eligible for spring and on Tuesday announced what numbers they will be wearing. The announcement was part of Ole Miss rolling out its updated roster.
Two of the biggest additions to Ole Miss this spring are quarterbacks Spencer Sanders and Walker Howard. Sanders will wear No. 3, which was worn by Kentrell Bullock last year while Howard takes over No. 7, Luke Altmyer’s former number while a Rebel.

Ole Miss will close out its spring practices with the annual Grove Bowl in April.
Last week Ole Miss announced the 2023 Grove Bowl will take place on April 15, adding to an already busy month for Rebel athletics and events in Oxford.
This will be head coach Lane Kiffin’s third spring practice at the helm of the Rebels. The 2020 spring was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Kiffin is entering his fourth season in Oxford.
Plenty of question marks, including the additions of Sanders and Howard, reside within the Ole Miss program after finishing the 2022 season with a 1-5 record after a 7-0 start and reaching a Top-10 ranking.
