The 2024 WNBA Draft is Monday and Marquesha Davis is trending to become the next Ole Miss player to hear her name called on draft night.

Davis earned an official invite to Monday’s draft last week and is currently among those projected to be selected in the top half of the three-round event.

If Davis gets picked she will become the seventh player in program history to earn the achievement. Shakira Austin is currently the most recent Ole Miss player to be drafted, selected third overall by the Washington Mystics in the 2022 WNBA Draft.

The latest mock drafts as of Monday have Davis going as high as late first round and moving up the board to a potentially at worst second round selection. Two mock drafts have Davis going to the same WNBA team but have a differing of opinion when in the draft that team will select her.

Jackie Powell of Yahoo! Sports projects Davis to be taken 11th overall by the New York Liberty, referencing the player comps to current Phoenix Mercury guard Kahleah Copper.

“Davis’ abilities to slash and get to the rim while having an under-developed 3-point shot are similar to what scouts saw in Copper during her senior year at Rutgers,” Powell wrote.

ESPN’s latest mock draft has Davis still heading to the New York Liberty but as the fifth selection in the second round as the 17th overall pick.

During the 2023-24 season Davis averaged 14.6 points, 4.8 rebounds, 1.2 assists and 1.5 steals per game. She finished as Ole Miss’ leading scorer, recording double figures in 25 games and scoring at least 20 points in eight games. In SEC play, Davis averaged 15.7 points per game while shooting at a clip of 45.8 percent.

The 2024 WNBA Draft takes place Monday at 6:30 p.m. CT on ESPN.
