The path to the 2023 NFL Draft is underway with the conclusion of the 2022 college football season and five Ole Miss players are heading to the next step.

On Tuesday Ole Miss announced that receivers Jonathan Mingo and Malik Heath, running back Zach Evans, offensive lineman Nick Broeker and defensive lineman Tavius Robinson received invites to this year’s NFL Scouting Combine.

Heath and Mingo led the Rebels air attack with 971 and 861 receiving yards, respectively. Heath finished the 2022 season as the third best receiver in the Southeastern Conference while Mingo finished inside the Top 10 as the seventh best.

Mingo is Ole Miss’ top ranked NFL Draft prospect according to Scouts, Inc. coming in with an overall ranking of 103. Robinson is next at 107.

After a season at Ole Miss via TCU and the transfer portal, Evans provided a one-two punch along with SEC rushing title holder Quinshon Judkins. The Houston native finished 936 yards and nine touchdowns on 144 carries.

Broeker returned to Ole Miss for a final season after dipping his toe into the NFL Draft poll last year.

Evaluations Broeker received aided in his decision to come back for another season of college football. He also changed positions along the offensive line to show he could be versatile at the next level.

One area of concern from scouts regarding Broeker was that he was told his arms were too short, which is a hard thing to change with another season in college. Still Broeker wanted to have a much to show on tape as he could and anchored the Rebels offensive line all season.

“I’ve gone through it before, so I kind of got a lot of things figured out,” Broeker said prior to playing in the Texas Bowl last month.

“(The move) ended up being a really good transition for me. Really excited about it still. I definitely thing, looking back, that it was the best decision.”

For Robinson, his final season at Ole Miss was his best one yet. He finished as the Rebels eight best tackler with 44 total tackles. He led the team in sacks with seven.

This year’s NFL Scouting Combine will Feb. 28 to March 6 in Indianapolis at Lucas Oil Stadium.
