Ole Miss lands three on ESPN's final Top 100 players of the 2024 season
Monday marked the end of the 2024 college football season and now the end of year lists and rankings continue to roll out, including several Ole Miss players.
The Rebels finished No. 11 in the last Associated Press poll of the season that released on Tuesday after another 10-win season. On Wednesday ESPN rolled out its Top 100 players of the season, comparing it to the preseason list dropped back in August.
Of those 100 players Ole Miss managed to get three representatives on the list and none should be shocking, but maybe their rankings are.
Jaxson Dart, Tre Harris and Walter Nolen earned a spot as one of the Top 100 players for the season. Harris dropped from this preseason ranking while Dart and Nolen, who was not ranked in August, moved up.
Of the three Nolen earned the highest ranking, landing at No. 26 after previously being not ranked in the preseason Top 100. In his lone season in Oxford Nolen finished with 14 tackles for loss (team high) and 6.5 sacks (fourth best).
Nolen is also the 14th consensus All-American in program history.
“A change of scenery was exactly what the former five-star prospect needed, as Nolen blossomed in his first season at Ole Miss in 2024,” ESPN’s Mark Schlabach wrote. “After barely scratching the surface of his talent in two seasons at Texas A&M, Nolen was the anchor of the No. 2 run defense (80.5 yards) in the FBS in his only season with the Rebels.”
Next up was Dart who was ranked No. 36, moving up five spots from his preseason ranking. This past season, Dart set Ole Miss single-season records in total offense (4,774), passing yards (4,279) and passing efficiency (180.7), among others.
Dart led the Southeastern Conference with 329.2 passing yards per game and was third among FBS quarterbacks. He completed just under 70 percent of his passes and averaged a league-best 10.8 yards per attempt

“Overshadowed by Alabama’s Jalen Milroe and Georgia’s Carson Beck before the 2024 season, Dart proved to be the SEC’s most consistent quarterback this past season,” Schlabach wrote.
Harris suffered the biggest drop in the rankings after season marred by more injuries, coming in at No. 99. This was a 61-spot drop from where he was in the preseason list.
Battling through a groin injury Harris still finished as the SEC’s second-best receiver with 1,030 yards, averaging 128.8 yards per game. The injury caused Harris to miss five of the last six games, including the Egg Bowl and Gator Bowl.
“Harris was limited by a lingering groin injury this season, but when healthy, he was one of the most dynamic receivers in college football,” ESPN’s Chris Low wrote.
Harris became the program’s sixth receiver to crack the 1,000-yard milestone in a season. In 2023 he was 15 yards shy of doing it.
