Ole Miss OL Preston Cushman to enter NCAA transfer portal
Ole Miss offensive lineman Preston Cushman will enter the NCAA transfer portal, he announced on Thursday afternoon.
Cushman has spent the past three seasons with the Rebels, where he has had a somewhat limited impact. He did appear in all 12 games for Ole Miss during the 2024 season.
“I would like to thank everyone at Ole Miss including the coaches, trainers, and support staff who have supported me over the last three years,” Preston Cushman wrote. “After talking to my family I have decided it is best for me to enter the transfer portal with 2 years of eligibility remaining!”
While his contributions on the field have been somewhat limited, Cushman has made a big impact in the classroom. He was named to the SEC’s first-year honor roll in 2022-23, then earned a place on the SEC fall academic honor roll in 2023. He was also on the athletic director’s honor roll in fall 2022 and spring 2023.

Cushman began his career in 2022, appearing in two games on the offensive line. As a result, he redshirted. He played a bit more in 2023, seeing time in four games across the offensive line and on special teams. Then he saw significantly more time in 2024, though he did not earn any starts.
