The first Ole Miss player selected in the 2025 NFL Draft has been revealed to be quarterback Jaxson Dart.

Dart was selected by the New York Giants as the 25th overall pick in the first round. He is the first Rebels quarterback to be drafted in the first round since the Giants took Eli Manning in 2004.

The quarterback position was one that featured a lot of intrigue heading into this draft with Dart in the mix with Colorado’s Shadeur Sanders and Miami’s Cam Ward as the top three quarterbacks available this year.

Now starting his professional career Dart departed Ole Miss as one of the program’s best players to play the quarterback position in its history.

In his three seasons in Oxford Dart amassed a 65.7 completion percentage (735-of-1,118) for 10,617 yards, 72 touchdowns. He also rushed for 1,498 yards and 12 touchdowns on 371 career carries.

Dart re-wrote the Rebels record book with the most wins by a starting quarterback (28) and winning percentage by a starting quarterback (.737). He also set career marks in career marks in total offense (12,115), passing yards (10,617), passing efficiency (162.8), 300-yard passing games (15), rushing yards by a QB (1,498), total offense per play (8.14), and tied for the records in yards per pass attempt (9.5), 400-yard passing games (4).

Dart is the second Ole Miss player selected in this year’s first round, following Walter Nolen who was drafted by the Arizona Cardinals as the 16th overall pick.
