Ole Miss' Quinshon Judkins, who is 'a different human being' earns another All-American honor
Ole Miss running back Quinshon Judkins is primed to have a special year and the preseason accolades continued on Monday, setting up the anticipation of a special sophomore season.
The Associated Press released its Preseason All-America Team with Judkins earning First Team running back honors alongside Michigan running back Blake Corum.
This is the latest award in a long line for Judkins, who has also already been named to the Maxwell, Walter Camp and Doak Walker Award watch lists in addition to earning Preseason All-America and first-team Preseason All-SEC honors by the SEC media, Walter Camp, Lindy’s, Athlon and Phil Steele.
The reigning Southeastern Conference rushing title holder is considered one of the top running backs in the conference for the 2023 season. Arkansas running back Raheim ‘Rocket’ Sanders is right there neck-and-neck with Judkins.

Heading into the upcoming season Judkins is now the lead guy in the Ole Miss running backs room and the catalyst for the offense. A year older, wiser and stronger Judkins has impressed his teammates with the progression his game has taken in the offseason.
That includes newcomers like tight end Caden Prieskorn.
“It’s awesome, just how much he loves football,” Prieskorn said of Judkins after Monday’s practice. “He’ll do it all. Like earlier, he had a block in practice, like he was the lead blocker on a little sweep play. …The unselfishness he has — as someone that has all these awards, all this attention on him — just how good of a person he is. He’s a different human being.”
Last season Judkins put together one of the greatest seasons ever by an SEC freshman running back. His 1,567 yards ranks as the second-most ever by a freshman in SEC history, trailing only Georgia’s Herschel Walker, who ran for 1,616 yards in 1980. Judkins’ historic season also ended ranked No. 11 all-time among Power-5 freshmen and was the most since 2017.
