Ole Miss' Quinshon Judkins wins 2022 C Spire Conerly Trophy
This is a very good time to be Quinshon Judkins. The Ole Miss running back was the best in the conference and on Tuesday was named the top college football player in Mississippi.
Judkins was named the 2022 C Spire Conerly Trophy winner, making him the fifth Ole Miss player to win the trophy in the last seven years. Quarterback Matt Corral won the award in 2021.
The true freshman beat out Mississippi State cornerback Emmanuel Forbes and Jackson State quarterback Shedeur Sanders who were the other two finalists.
“I’m honored to receive this award on behalf of Ole Miss, my coaches and teammates,” Judkins said in a video statement. “In particular, I want to thank my offensive line. This award is a testament to their commitment and hard work this season.”
Judkins led Ole Miss with 1,474 rushing yards and 16 rushing touchdowns. He and running back Zach Evans mad the Rebels rushing attack the best in the Southeastern Conference for a second time in three seasons.

Tuesday night’s announcement capped off a day of good news for Ole Miss. Earlier in the day athletics director Keith Carter announced head coach Lane Kiffin had signed a new contract.
“It’s been an amazing season and to see you do what you do as a true freshman is just truly, truly amazing,” Kiffin said in a video statement. “Stay and maybe you’ll win it two more years, too.”

Ole Miss is also home to the top offensive lineman in Mississippi.
Nick Broeker won the Kent Hull Trophy, naming him the top lineman in Mississippi.
The award has been presented annually to the top collegiate offensive lineman in Mississippi. It is named after Magnolia State native Kent Hull, who spent 11 seasons with the Buffalo Bills, appearing in four straight Super Bowls and three consecutive Pro Bowls.
Broeker started all 12 games of the regular season at left tackle after making the position switch ahead of the 2022 season to help better his NFL Draft portfolio. He hasn’t allowed a sack in 505 pass blocking snaps and is anchor for an Ole Miss offense that ranks No. 3 in the FBS in rushing yards per game (261.6) and No. 7 in total offense (491.2).
The ceremony was held virtually on Tuesday due to inclement weather in the Jackson, Miss. area.
