One of Ole Miss‘ top additions from the transfer portal from last offseason is expected to enter the portal again, according to On3’s Pete Nakos. Rebels running back Rashad Amos plans to enter the NCAA transfer portal, Nakos reported Saturday.

Amos saw limited action for Ole Miss this season, tallying just nine carries for 75 yards.

Prior to transferring to Ole Miss, Rashad Amos had a breakout season at Miami (Ohio) in 2023. He ran for 1,075 yards and 13 touchdowns during that campaign. That came after he spent the first two seasons of his career at South Carolina.

Now, he’ll be onto his fourth program of his college career. The Rebels didn’t have a consistent run game all season as Lane Kiffin & Co. rotated backs in and out of the lineup.

As a recruit, Amos was ranked as a three-star prospect and the No. 1,027 overall recruit in the nation in the 2020 class. He was also ranked as the No. 88 running back in the class and the No. 106 overall player from the state of Georgia in that cycle, hailing from Tyrone (GA) Sandy Creek.

Lane Kiffin and the Rebels fell short of their goals this season, but Ole Miss did capture the Egg Bowl, beating Mississippi State on Saturday.

“Really happy for our fans, players that played here before,” Kiffin said after the game. “This is obviously, as you guys know, a huge game in this state, and it’s hard for players or coaches, really, until you get here to understand that. Now being in five of them, I understand that, but I think our players probably felt that early with some of the new players to understand even though we told them a million times, records don’t matter. It happens in these games. Weird things happen in these Egg Bowls, and it really doesn’t matter that you happen to be the No. 1 passing team coming in. Well, that stuff doesn’t mean anything and the game kind of started that way. Give Lebby credit. They had them ready to go.”
