Princely Umanmielen has Ole Miss advice for younger brother/new Rebel EDGE Princewill
Ole Miss football is keeping a lot of its pass-rushing all in the family in 2025-26.

Princely was an All-American and tied for the team lead in sacks (10.5) in his only Ole Miss season. He added 14 tackles for loss and a fumble recovery returned for a touchdown. The Rebels won 10 games for the third time in three years.
Princely’s off to the NFL as a likely second-day pick in April’s draft. He’s one of a program-record 11 Rebels participating in the NFL Combine this week.
Princewill was one of the two Top 10 EDGE transfers — as ranked by On3 — Ole Miss pulled from the portal in the off-season. He was No. 3. The Rebels signed the nation’s No. 2 overall class.
“I try to tell my little brother, like, you’ve got to grow up fast,” Princely said at the Combine on Wednesday. “In my head nobody couldn’t tell me I wasn’t going to go three-and-out when I first got to college. And then you look up and you’re a junior. It goes by really, really fast. It’s like, damn, I’m not even mature for real yet.
“I just tell my little brother and some guys you have to grow fast and become a pro fast. You can’t be childish anymore; you have to really lock in and do all the things outside of the facility and in the facility to be a pro.”

Ole Miss will be replacing 18 of 22 starters next season, including its entire defensive line.
Princely named EDGE Suntarine Perkins, defensive tackle William Echoles and Princewill as the future at the position.

Perkins had 10.5 sacks this season, too. Echoles was a mid-season freshman All-American by On3. Princewill had 35 total tackles and 1.5 sacks over two seasons with the Huskers. He has two years of eligibility remaining.
“(Kam Franklin’s) done really well,” Umanmielen said in a previous interview with the Ole Miss Spirit. “He has gotten better faster than I can imagine. It’s night and day from when he first got (to Ole Miss) last spring.”
Princely has had formal meetings this week with the Arizona Cardinals, Philadelphia Eagles, Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Baltimore Ravens. He’s spoken with the Dallas Cowboys, too.
“I’m a game changer,” Umanmielen said Wednesday. “When we need a big play on defense, I think a lot of times I step up to the plate and I put it on myself to go out there and make a big play.”
