The first week of Ole Miss spring football 2025 is in the books.

The Rebels opened practices last Tuesday and held two closed-door sessions on Thursday and Saturday. They’ll hit the fields again on those same days this week.

Sixth-year head coach Lane Kiffin and select players will meet the media after Tuesday’s session. The Rebels will practice up until April 19. They’ve replaced a traditional end-of-spring scrimmage with the return of ‘Meet the Rebels’ after a six-year absence.

Ole Miss is replacing over 72 percent of its starting lineup, including all but one (Cayden Lee) of its wide receivers.

The Rebels hit the portal hard in the off-season to replace the lost production in Tre Harris, Jordan Watkins and Juice Wells.

The trio is off to the NFL Draft, also set for April. All draft-eligible Rebels will work out in front of NFL scouts, coaches and executives at Ole Miss Pro Day on March 28.

De’Zhaun Stribling (Oklahoma State) was one of five transfer wide receivers signed by the Rebels in a portal class currently ranked No. 2 in the country by On3. The others were Caleb Odom (Alabama), Deuce Alexander (Wake Forest), Traylon Ray (West Virginia) and Trey Wallace (Penn State).

“Body types, it’s a really good looking group and has a lot of length and really good movements,” Kiffin said this week. “This time of year when you lose a lot of players, a lot of times you go out there and there’s concerns. Don’t get to just fill up every position the way you wish it was.

“We lost a lot of players at a lot of spots, including receiver. I’m really excited about the players that came in. When you go out there you feel like, okay, we got a really good shot out here. Now, they’ve got to develop and play tougher with the quarterbacks. But it’s a really good-looking room.”
