Ole Miss women’s basketball — fresh off off back-to-back SEC wins — hosts No. 7 Texas on Sunday at 2 p.m. CT.

The Rebels were off last week following wins over Florida and at in-state rival Mississippi State. The Rebels are No. 6 in the nation and No. 1 in the nation in scoring defense. They’re holding opponents to 52.0 points per game.

“Huge opportunity coming up this Sunday with us,” Ole Miss head coach Yolett McPhee-McCuin said. “Alumni game (and) 50 years with of teams. Hopefully we have a representative from every decade to come and show up.

“But all in all last week was a really good week for us.”

Ole Miss (13-5, 4-2 SEC) had held eight opponents to 50 points or less for the fourth straight season.

“Really trying to get this team to buy into the defensive end,” McPhee-McCuin said. “That’s Ole Miss women’s basketball. Our knock has always been offensively we couldn’t make shots. Well, we have that, but we can’t lose the defense.

“If we bring both of those together that’s a team no one’s going to want to play in March.”
