Ole Miss releases terms of Lane Kiffin's latest contract
The saga of getting Lane Kiffin to commit to Ole Miss and agreeing to a new contract was well documented over the months of November and early December but now those terms are known.
On Wednesday the Ole Miss Spirit obtained a copy of the term sheet for Kiffin’s new deal to remain the head football coach at Ole Miss for the foreseeable future.
Kiffin’s latest contract runs from Jan. 1 of this year to Dec. 31, 2026 and is the fourth contract Kiffin has signed since coming to Ole Miss December 2019.
Over the four year deal Kiffin will earn a base salary of $8.75 million up to $9 million. Mississippi state employees are allowed only a max of a four-year contract. Below is the base pay scale.
- 2023 – $8,750,000
- 2024 – $8,850,000
- 2025 – $9,000,000
- 2026 – $9,000,000
Kiffin earned a raise of over $1.5 million for the 2023 season after earning $7.25 million last year.
There are plenty of bonuses and incentives sprinkled throughout the contract, including retention bonuses. If Kiffin remains as the Ole Miss head coach after Dec. 31 this year he will earn an extra $250,000 and if he is here beyond Dec. 31, 2024 he earns an additional $150,000.
