Ole Miss signees stand out at Alabama-Mississippi All-Star Practice
Ole Miss safety signee Cortez Thomas was named one of the top performers from Alabama-Mississippi All-Star practices by On3. On3 national director of scouting and rankings Charles Power noted he displayed versatility and sticky coverage in the practices.
“Cortez Thomas was a standout at defensive back for Mississippi,” Power wrote. “The 6-foot, 170-pounder lined up at corner and safety in practice and made several plays on the ball. Thomas had little trouble staying in-phase with receivers while working in man coverage at corner.”
Thomas is ranked as a four-star on the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He’s the No. 353 overall prospect, No. 34 safety in the nation and No. 12 prospect in Mississippi.
He never wavered during the recruiting process and stuck with Ole Miss after committing in July. He held offers from Kentucky, Louisville, Mississippi State and others.
