Ole Miss Softball added a transfer commitment in Fresno State catcher/1st baseman Kennedy Bunker, On3 learned on Saturday. This year, Bunker was an All-Mountain West Second Team selection, starting all 57 games for the Bulldogs.

Bunker finished the season with a team-high .364 batting average, .519 slugging percentage and .406 on-base percentage.

For the Bulldogs this year, Bunker was second on the team with 59 hits and 38 RBIs. She led the team in doubles with 11, launched four home runs and drew 24 walks.

Over her three years at Fresno State, she’s started 163 games. That is a huge amount of experience for Ole Miss to add into the fold.

The Ole Miss softball program broke through this season with its first trip to Oklahoma City and the Women’s College World Series. After getting through the Tucson Regional as the 2 Seed then beating No. 4 National Seed Arkansas in three games the Rebels experienced their first taste of playing for the national championship. The Rebels fell short though in Oklahoma City.
