Ole Miss’ Todd-Williams gets hard-earned reward with career-best effort at Georgia
Kennedy Todd-Williams was one of the top transfers in college basketball when she signed on with Ole Miss this time last year.
The Rebels were fresh off an historic season in which they defeated No. 1 seed Stanford in the second round of the NCAA Tournament to advance to the program’s first Sweet 16 since 2007. Todd-Williams came over from North Carolina, where she started every game as an All-ACC selection, to help keep the momentum going.
She showed once more, on Sunday, why she was worth all the trouble.
Todd-Williams set new career-highs in points (22) and field goals made (10) as the Rebels picked up their second SEC road win, 69-59, at Georgia. She added a season-best five assists.
“I was just being aggressive,” Todd-Williams said afterwards. “I just found a way to get it done. It was just a really good game for us. It’s a transition being a transfer. Just really finding my way each day in practices. I think it’s all paying off, slowly but surely. This was a really good game for me.”
Bracket Watch: What are the latest NCAA Tournament projections for both Ole Miss teams?
Ole Miss has already faced plenty of adversity this season, including the loss of KK Deans for the year to an injury.
Deans, like Todd-Williams, was an off-season transfer addition.
However, the Rebels continue to find a way and keep themselves firmly in NCAA Tournament contention. They’ve won seven of nine and sit 13-5 (3-2 SEC) overall. ESPN currently projects Ole Miss as an eight-seed.

The Rebels this week have games against Florida and Tennessee on Thursday and Sunday, respectively. The home tipoff against the Gators is set for 6:00 p.m. CT and will air on SEC Network.
“Toddy is our hardest worker on the team,” McPhee-McCuin said. “Toddy’s been sowing seeds since she stepped foot on campus. But transfers, they just take a while. I’ve been telling Toddy, ‘Repay yourself for the work you put in every single day.’ Nobody is more deserving of having the performance she had.”
