Ole Miss football is nearing the end of its third full week of preseason practices. The Rebels on Thursday got a break from the some of the most intense heat we can ever remember in fall camp, while true freshman wide receiver Ayden Williams continued to draw rave early reviews as a Rebel and veteran EDGE Cedric Johnson was named this year’s recipient of the Chucky Mullins Courage Award.

“I think the guys have had great energy. Really coming together,” now-fourth-year head coach Lane Kiffin said following practice on Thursday. “Really good culture for so many new guys. I’m excited about where the team’s at.

“They’re coming together on defense. Limited explosive plays. Sometimes in camp that’s been an issue, especially last year. I feel like these new players have come in and a lot of them have a lot of experience. That’s a big factor in helping that. I feel really good about the competition at a number of spots: offensive line, more running back competition now and tight end is very deep. It’s been really good all around.”

The included photos and practice highlights were provided by Ole Miss Athletics.
