Ole Miss WR Jonathan Mingo declares for the NFL Draft
In what was mostly a foregone conclusion and needed mere formality to be made official was provided that by Jonathan Mingo on Monday.
The Ole Miss wide receiver announced his plans to forego his final season in Oxford and head for the NFL Draft.
Mingo made the announcement via his Twitter page Monday evening.
“I want to express my appreciation to coach (Lane) Kiffin, coach (Derrick) Nix, and the rest of the coaching staff for having faith in me and encouraging me to develop both as a player and a person,” Mingo’s statement read.
“After much prayer, I have decided to forego my remaining year of eligibility and declare for the 2023 NFL Draft.”
Mingo making the decision to begin his journey towards playing on Sundays this year was expected, but it does leave a big hole in the Ole Miss receivers room. But it is one that Kiffin and his staff have already worked to fill.
