No. 12 Ole Miss clinched the second 10-win regular season in program history — and second in four years under head coach Lane Kiffin — with a 17-7 win at Mississippi State Thanksgiving night.

The Rebels (10-2, 6-2 SEC) reclaimed the Golden Egg in the annual rivalry matchup that dates back to 1901. Kiffin improved to 3-1 in Egg Bowls, while sophomore running back Quinshon Judkins secured back-to-back 1,000-yard rushing seasons. Judkins set a new single-season Ole Miss record for rushing yards as a true freshman a year ago.

“Excited to get the trophy back,” Kiffin said afterwards. Tough losing it last year.”

Mississippi State fell to 5-7 (1-7). Ole Miss is now 24-15-3 in the series games played in Starkville, including an 11-4 mark on Thanksgiving.

The Rebels now turn to the postseason. They’re most likely headed to Florida, specifically the Citrus Bowl, which would be another program first. Kiffin has taken the Rebels bowling in each of his four seasons.
