POLL POSITION: How big a jump did Ole Miss make after beating Georgia?
Ole Miss is back in the hunt for everything following Saturday’s 28-10 beatdown of Georgia, re-entering itself into the College Football Playoff conversation.
While the true impact of the Rebels win will not be known until Tuesday’s second batch of CFP rankins are released, Sunday’s latest polls could give an early indicator.
Last week the CFP and Associated Press Top rankings mirrored each other pretty close in the Top 10 and they each had Ole Miss at No. 16 entering Saturday’s game.
But where do things stand now for the Rebels and voters?
Well they got a boost in the AP and Coaches Polls, moving up one spot to No. 11 in the Coaches Poll and six spots to No. 10 in the AP.
Right back on the bubble of the CFP and the 12-team format going off the new rankings is perfect spot for Ole Miss. Not only did it take care of business Saturday and cap its third straight win over a SEC opponent but did so by double-digit margins for a third straight week.

Now the Rebels get to prop their feet up and enjoy their second bye week next weekend and see where they might land after the dusts settles of Week 12.
There is one key game next weekend and it once again involves Georgia. The Bulldogs will host Tennessee it what could be another CFP elimination game for the SEC. The Rebels and Bulldogs and LSU – Alabama felt like CFP elimination and survival games this week.
The Tigers were ran out of Death Valley by the Tide in a lop-sided loss giving them their third loss and essentially taking them out of the CFP equation while Alabama remains in the picture with Mercer, Oklahoma and the Iron Bowl remaining.
