The first loss of the season for Ole Miss came at a price when the new rankings were released on Sunday.

The Rebels went to Baton Rouge looking for its first win at Tiger Stadium since 2008 but the seventh try was not the charm as LSU ran away with a 45-20 victory on Saturday.

For Ole Miss (7-1, 3-1 Southeastern Conference) it was the end of its stay inside the consensus Top 10 as it dropped a few spots in the USA Today AFCA Coaches Poll and dropped quite a few spots more in the Associated Press Poll.

Now the Rebels are still a consensus Top 15 team after receiving their first blemish of 2022 and now have some work to do in getting back towards the top.

In the Coaches Poll Ole Miss dropped five spots to No. 12 but still the fourth SEC team inside the Top 15.

The Top five stays relatively the same in the Coaches Poll with Georgia (7-0, 4-0 SEC) at No. 1 followed by Ohio State (7-0) at No. 2. Tennessee (7-0, 3-0) moves up a spot to No. 3 and bumps Michigan (7-0) down to No. 4 with Clemson (8-0) staying at No. 5 after its comeback win over Syracuse.
