The roller coaster ride that is Ole Miss baseball in the Top 25 polls continues this week after taking the series over No. 6 Auburn this past weekend.

Closing out the regular season the Rebels got much-needed wins and was close to the sweep before the Tigers rallied late in Saturday’s finale. Nevertheless it got momentum back heading into the postseason and the Southeastern Conference Tournament.

With its fifth SEC series win in its back pocket Ole Miss moved back into the Top 20 in the final polls of the regular season.

D1Baseball put the Rebels at No. 17 after dropping them out of last week’s poll following the series loss at Mississippi State.

Ole Miss remained in Baseball America’s poll last week and moved up six spots to No. 16 in Monday’s poll.

Polls do not mean a whole lot moving forward as this week in Hoover at the SEC Tournament is about winning as many games as possible and improving any résumé metrics. D1Baseball released its final Field of 64 projections ahead of conference tournament week on Sunday, putting Ole Miss as the 2 Seed in the Hattiesburg Regional.

The Rebels are also back on the hosting bubble and close to breaking through it, though how many wins this week in the SEC Tournament are needed remains unknown. They start on Wednesday at 4:30 p.m. CT in the second round and will play either Florida or South Carolina.
