POLL POSITION: Ole Miss men's basketball gets boost in the latest rankings
After a split road trip last week the Ole Miss men’s basketball team with a win at Alabama and then the overtime loss at Mississippi State, it jumped up the rankings in the newest Top 25 polls released on Monday.
Winning every game is the goal but going 1-1 in those games was also a net positive for the Rebels (15-3, 4-1 Southeastern Conference). There is a little more wiggle room with the remaining 13-game SEC slate.
In the newest Associated Press Top 25 poll Ole Miss moved up five spots to No. 16, tying its highest ranking this season and since 2013. The Rebels were also ranked No. 16 in the Coaches Poll.
There are eight SEC teams ranked in the Top 16, including No. 1 Auburn. The Crimson Tide stayed at No. 4 after beating then No. 8 Kentucky. The Wildcats slipped a spot to No. 9.
