Finally, all of the Week 1 college football games after Monday night’s finale between Clemson and Georgia Tech – a future opponent of Ole Miss.

Ole Miss will face the Yellowjackets next week in Atlanta, but are coming off a season-opening win over Troy. Despite getting to the 1-0 start the Rebels found themselves shifting in both directions in the first Top 25 rankings of the regular season.

The first Associated Press rankings pushed Ole Miss down a spot to No. 22. The wildness that was Week 1 may have been the culprit with BYU jumping four spots to supplant the Rebels at No. 21 and Florida moving from not ranked to No. 12 after its win over then-No. 7 Utah.

Voters could also have not seen enough from Ole Miss in its 28-10 victory to slot them up into the top 20.

Alabama, Georgia, Ohio State, Michigan and Clemson round out the top five of the AP Poll.

The USA Today AFCA Coaches Poll was a little friendlier to Ole Miss, but not by much.

In the first regular season rankings released by the Coaches Poll, the Rebels moved up a spot to No. 23 after starting the preseason at No. 24.

Outside of the Gators making an 18 spot jump up to No. 19 and Oregon falling 12 spots to No. 24 the Coaches Poll was a little less chaotic than the AP rankings.

The Crimson Tide, Bulldogs, Buckeyes were the top three while the Tigers and Wolverines swapped spots in the Coaches Poll.
