Poll Position: Ole Miss jumps into the Top 15 after going 4-0 in September
September is winding down and when the calendar turns to October the real fun of the schedule begins for Ole Miss.
After taking care of Tulsa in a 35-27 victory that saw Ole Miss have to sweat it out more than some might have anticipated, the Rebels went a perfect 4-0 in the month of September.
The victory was also the 12th straight home win for Ole Miss, dating back to November of 2020. All of this is a recipe to getting ranked high in the polls with a third of the season completed, which is where the Rebels see themselves.
Both the Associated Press and the USA Today AFCA Coaches Polls have moved Ole Miss into the Top 15 in the newest rankings released on Sunday. The Coaches Poll had the Rebels inside the Top 15 a week ago but the AP Poll has now followed suit.
The love of the Coaches Poll continues for Ole Miss as it moved up three spots to No. 11, giving the Rebels its highest ranking of the season.
The top five teams remained the same in the Coaches Poll with Georgia (4-0), Alabama (4-0), Ohio State (4-0), Michigan (4-0) and Clemson (4-0).
Ole Miss worked its way into the Top 15 of the Associated Press rankings for the first time this season.
The climb up the AP Poll has been a littler slower for Ole Miss than it has been in the Coaches Poll. But the voters moved them up two spots to No. 14 this week.
