Carolina On His Mind? Umanmielen has four Top 30 NFL Draft visits, including Panthers

Ole Miss EDGE Princely Umanmielen reportedly has four Top 30 visits for the 2025 NFL Draft.
Umanmielen, who led Ole Miss in sacks in his only season as a Rebel, will meet with the Baltimore Ravens, Carolina Panthers, Arizona Cardinals and Seattle Seahawks, according to Aaron Wilson of KPRC in Houston.
The Panthers are particularly interesting.
They hold the No. 8 overall selection, which is probably a bit rich as far as when Umanmielen comes off the board. Umanmielen said at Ole Miss Pro Day the Panthers are one of four teams showing the most interest in him. However, his representation believes his clock doesn’t start until around the Green Bay Packers at No. 23 overall.
Lambeau Field, the legendary home of the Packers, is playing host to the draft this year, which runs April 24-26.
“They’ll be getting a game-changer,” Umanmielen said of the team that drafts him. “If you go look back at games this past season whenever a big moment is needed, sack or (tackle for loss), I feel like that’s when I show up the most.
“I’m always grateful. God is so good that I’ve been blessed in this position. But 23 and on. Who knows what can happen? I feel like the type of tape I put out last season I shouldn’t be anywhere outside the Top 20. But I ain’t the one picking.”
The Panthers will also pick No. 57 overall in the second round and met with Umanmielen at the Senior Bowl.
The Cardinals pick at 16, while the Seahawks follow at 18 and the Ravens at 27.
Umanmielen was an All-American as an EDGE for the Rebels and tied for the team lead in sacks (10.5). He added 14 TFLs and a fumble recovery returned for a touchdown. Ole Miss won 10 games for the third time in four years.
“Nothing too special,” Umanmielen said of his draft-night plans. “Just the usual — gather some family and friends around back at home in Austin, Texas.”

Ole Miss could have 3-5 first-rounders.
Defensive tackle Walter Nolen appears the safest first-round bet, followed by quarterback Jaxson Dart, who’s emerged as a potential option for the quarterback-needy New Orleans Saints at No. 9.
Cornerback Tre Amos is an option for teams in the back half of the first.
The 6-foot-4, 244-pound Umanmielen ran the 40-yard dash in 4.72 seconds with a 1.62 10-yard split, a 38-inch vertical leap, a 10-6 broad jump and a 4.46 short shuttle.
He was second-team All-SEC with seven sacks and 11 1/2 tackles for losses for Florida in 2023.
“I’ve never been to an NFL game,” Umanmielen said. “The first NFL game I go to is going to be the one I play in.”
Notable Rebels drafted by the Panthers in recent years include QB Matt Corral, WR Jonathan Mingo and defensive end Marquis Haynes. CB Deshawn Gaddie signed with the Panthers as an undrafted free agent last year.
